NTP Sumatera Barat bulan Maret 2020 tercatat sebesar 101,74 atau turun 0,87 persen dibanding bulan sebelumnya yang tercatat sebesar 102,63 (Februari 2020).
Indeks harga yang diterima petani (It) mengalami penurunan sebesar 1,04 persen dan indeks harga yang dibayar petani (Ib) mengalami penurunan sebesar 0,17 persen. Pada Maret 2020 NTP masing-masing subsektor tercatat sebesar 102,50 untuk subsektor tanaman pangan (NTPP), 98,34 untuk subsektor hortikultura (NTPH), 102,64 untuk subsektor tanaman perkebunan rakyat (NTPR), 100,32 untuk subsektor peternakan (NTPT), dan 95,37 untuk subsektor perikanan (NTPN). Subsektor perikanan terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu subsektor perikanan tangkap dan perikanan budidaya dengan NTP masing-masing sebesar 97,61 dan 93,67.
Pada bulan Maret 2020 rata-rata harga gabah kualitas GKP di tingkat petani mengalami peningkatan sebesar 0,16 persen dari Rp 5.768,82 per kg (Februari 2020) menjadi Rp 5.778,08 per kg (Maret 2020), dan di tingkat penggilingan mengalami peningkatan sebesar 0,21 persen dari Rp 5.880,51 per kg (Februari 2020) menjadi Rp 5.893,02 per kg (Maret 2020)
